Starting a Technical Blog

Having years of experience, I thought it would be easy to write something technical.  I’ve always enjoyed the work I’ve done and I’ve been lucky to be part of some incredible projects.  So why am I having trouble to get started writing?

One issue has become clear to me as I’ve looked for inspiration online.  There are a lot of great writers out there with real insight into technical issues, and although I do have the experience, I don’t consider myself a good writer.

So bear with me as I write some about issues that you’ll hopefully find interesting, even if the writing isn’t up to some of the standards we enjoy elsewhere.  And let’s hope the quality of the writing will improve with time!  I’m expecting to have a first article written by the end of August, 2019.

Here are a few topics that I’d like to get into:

  • A C++ Library for EPICS Channel Access Clients
  • An Updated Definition of SOUP for Medical Device Software
  • Details on Shared Memory and Synchronization in C++
  • Managing Requirements With Sparx Enterprise Architect
  • Notes on Message Logging in Distributed Systems
  • An EPICS Display Manager for Medical Accelerators
  • Generating Formal Documents from Sparx Enterprise Architect

If you have suggestions based on the Services page, I’d love to hear them.
